There is nothing wrong with looking for some beauty in the midst of this hideous world. I needed a break, like a 'stop the world I want to get off,' kind of break from the most intensely personal odyssey of caring for my mom, who is the star character in my non-fiction book, We Never Lost Hope: A Holocaust Memoir and Love Story
